Christmas Casata

Given that Christmas here is bound to be quite warm, rather than the traditional christmas/plum pudding, we have a more refreshing christmas desert. Manda’s famous Christmas Casata!
And here it is!
Yummy ice cream with glace fruit and in the middle a frozen custard with sponge finger bits soaked in strawberry liqueur.
Hmmmm…if i hope to pull this off this year i will have to knock off work early tomorrow and brave the manic christmas shoppers…aaah it’s soo much fun !![]()
Ha Ha…I’ts now our tradition so I’ll do it!!!
We will have a very casual Christmas this year, my family will drop by on Christmas day and I will provide them with a smorgasboard of goodies; baked glazed ham, a selection of salads, cold turkey breast, mince (fruit) pies (not MICE), assorted nuts (including the family ones
) chocolates, Christmas Casata and… for the die hards amongst us…. a bit of the traditional christmas pud with brandy sauce. (Oh and the ex said he will bring some Greek orange/honey short breads)
We will exchange gifts and pull christmas crackers and put on our funny paper hats, share silly jokes and drink a little champagne.
We are not a particularly religious bunch, so for us, Christmas is about sharing family time and getting together, remembering previous christmases and those who can no longer join us and welcoming our extended families.
