Thongs
There seems to be a bit of a comedy theme around blog land today so I have found a funny video to paste here……… but first, let me tell you about my evening…….
The girl (woman of 30 something but hey I’m 50+ so she’s a girl)who works for me, asked me if I would like to come along to an end of term party her dance class was having. She goes to salsa classes and says they are great fun. So I said” yeah, cool, I’ll come”
Anyway, the first hour was to be a come and try “westcoast swing” ( I thought I was going to learn some salsa) but never mind, I’ll give it a go.
Well, I was surprised, when we turned up to the hall ( an old church hall) there were actually more guys there than girls, and the ages ranged from 20 something to well over 50…. good start I thought……….. The teacher puts us in a girls line and a guys line…. first she showed the guys their steps and then the girls, and then we paired up to put it together. Every 10 mins or so she got the girls to move along 2 partners, so that after awhile we got to dance with everyone…it was really good fun.
One of my partners ( a buff man probably in his 30’s) said to me… ” Hey, I’m leading”, I said “OK, but I’m not used to being led” 
to which he had a bit of a giggle ( it was more like a guffaw… but ssssh) so I promised I would let him lead 
I had fun anyway 
After that, the instructor put on some music mixes, from Salsa, meringue, cha cha, tango and even some foxtrots and waltzes……..wow, some of those guys were smooth dancers ( gosh I’m a clutz…a couple actually decided there wasn’t anything they could do with me 
)
But….. the men asked the ladies to dance and the floor was never empty. One man asked me to dance with him for a tango 
I admitted to him that as a mere amateur (of 1 lesson not even in tango) I wasn’t sure I could be a good partner…..Well ! he said not to worry we would just step it out, and he took control and guided me around the floor………. I actually Tangoed! ( without the dip) wow…. i was so impressed.. ( oh, and slightly dizzy) so yeah….. I’m signing up for classes next term
