Mandacentricity
Some time ago I had this idea for a blog and have been collecting bits and pieces for it since. It’s a bit of a scrap book, a tiny glimpse of my time on the planet.
My challenge to my friends is to put together your own scrap book to share 
Not all the music videos are favourites, but they do remind me of the times.
1956
My mother named me after the character played by Katherine Hepburn in the movie ‘Adam’s Rib’ She wanted me to be clever and independant.
1961
I would often listen to the radio and this song made me laugh, we were big Peter sellers fans.
1966
At ten I became interested in popular music and would listen to my transister radio every night before I fell asleep. This picture was taken for the family, we were inbetween moves. We had just come back from a year visiting relatives in England and Holland and we were soon to leave australia again, this time for Malayasia.
School was all over, I had a job and I met my husband. this was the beginning of the working and saving cycle. We also did quite a bit of camping and exploring Australia. Then we bought a house and settled down.
And so, I haven’t got a picture for 1981. They are in my photo albums that were taken from me. 
I had a hard time finding videos of music that reminds me of the years from the early 80’s to the early 90’s. Those years were taken up with babies, school, childrens activities, cooking cleaning and feeding faces.
1996
I was looking forward to turning 40. And in lots of ways life was good, but ’96 turned out to be a difficult year. My father was unwell and later in the year spent a traumatic 4 months in hospital before passing away. My husband didn’t deal well with not have attention focussed on him and the rest is history.
2001
The beginning of a new sort of life.
2006
Not so long ago…2006 was a difficult year though healthwise.

Love your scrapbook…well written, love the pics of the evolving Manda, you’ve lived an interesting life:) We’re the same age and share many similarities in music, life in general…especially the 80’s decade…where life was busy, full and centered around growing families. I loved your clip from the movie, “Melody”! It’s been forever since I’ve seen it but it was a beautiful movie, still makes me tear up when I think about it:P I was a daffy young woman and a daffy woman still! Laughing here…have a great weekend gf:)
