Balloon Aloft

Early one morning in late March I went for a balloon flight. I was hoping to be able to take pictures of the changing leaves but it was still a bit early for the full effects of autumn.
The flight was fabulous anyway.I wasn’t afraid of the height at all. We took off from near the lake, in the Parliamentary triangle, headed west as we ascended and then the breeze turned us around and we headed south across south Canberra and slowly descended in a paddock some way outside the suburbs where our recovery team met us with champagne before taking us back to our pickup point.
We have lift off

over the lake and floating over Parliament House – they would shoot you down for that in some countries!
Looking back at the launch spot and across the city centre
The descent, grazing cockatoos took off as we approached
Letting the air out and pulling down the balloon to pack up again
The landing spot several Ks outside of the suburbs.
My certificate…I’ll go again I think It was great fun the views beautiful and so calm 🙂
