The baby maggies (magpies) came for some food. They are getting quite bold now and come to visit with out mum and dad magpie. But their parents taught them well so they don’t come too close.
Ok thats the Magpies….. now about Melvin.
Melvin had an a encounter with something yesterday afternoon and came slinking inside. He then went off to sulk under my bed until this morning. I have to report that he has a couple of war wounds for his troubles. Not sure if another cat chased him or it was possibley the birds. Today a pair of minors took exception to him sitting in the garden and lets face it, he makes quite a big target. Funnily enough the magpies and Melvin just ignore each other and keep a respectful distance.

awwww, poor Melvin. I hope he’s doing ok from the encounter, whatever it was. I had a cat once that was always being attacked by the bluejay’s in the yard and now and then the mockingbirds too, would pounce on her as well. I guess she pestered them one to many times as did Melvin :)) hugs
