Autumn has well and truly arrived and it’s also the time of year for the balloon fiesta. I was up at the crack of dawn and down to the lawns infront of old Parliament house. It was very hazy this morning a mixture of smoke haze and mist, but I brought the camera along. Plenty of people were out and about as well in the early morning chill. I recall other years getting up early and remembering it being dark for the balloon launch….they must be a bit late.

I got the camera out and stood about in the crowd and took some photos until the majority had taken off. I then got into the car and drove to the lake to follow their progress. They were travelling from east to west, roughly. Anyway I snapped away a few more pictures and then drove off home.

Then i plugged the camera into the computer..….. all my pictures are short (2 second) movies!

Well… I figured out how to make pictures from the movies and so I have put most them on the page here. Unfortunately the resolution/clarity is not as good as it would have been if i had had the camera on the correct setting, but the colours aren’t too bad.
