Light and shade

Light and shade

I was sitting on my deck yesterday afternoon (actually early evening), the sun was low in the sky and I noticed that my lantern on the corner of the deck looked nice in that light.

The low sun was shining on the windows that look onto the deck and then reflecting the light back across the corner. So I took a couple of pictures. The one above and the close up on the front page.

The all natural lighting from the suns reflection has given that corner of my deck a nice sort of feel and certainly enhanced the look of my old lantern. i didn’t do anything with the close up in photoshop apart from the dropshadow and bevelled edge and that’s mainly cos I haven’t worked all that stuff out yet but I was happy with the look anyway.

I spent the whole day yesterday in the city centre for our local Community Information day, which is held during our multi cultural Festival each year. The organisation I work for had a stall, and as the organiser, I was there setting up, handing out info and organising my volunteers. The weather was great and there were plenty of people. It’s a good event as we can give each other a break to go off and sample all sorts of food and watch different dance and music performances or go and do a little bit of shopping. I went off to the book store with this years Christmas voucher and stocked up on a couple of novels for sometime in the future… if i get a break ha ha.
