Ugggh

Penny took this picture of me talking to Melvin…he was talking back… I’m not very photogenic, especially at the end of a long day
so that just adds to the “ugggh” feeling.
Last weekend Melvin had another of his encounters with some other beast or bush and came in limping. He went straight under my bed and stayed there for 2 whole days and when he came out he still wasn’t very happy and was still limping, so I took him to the vet in my lunch hour. The vet gave him an anti inflamatory shot and also antibiotics as he said it was likely that Melvin had a few bits from another cat and the meds would fix any infection that was brewing…. $120, thankyou very much……but when I got home from work Melvin was a whole lot chirpier so I guess it did him good and now he is just limping a very little bit.
Work this week has just been long and tiring with 2 nights of after work type work and late nights, so I feel like I haven’t been able to get anything else done. Oh well, next week might be better and I am going to Brisbane next week for 2 days to a conference…and nice warm weather
so that’s good.
I bought a camera last weekend for myself……I have been using my daughters up until now. I took some pictures of the Magpie family but they are all very big files, so I will have to resize those and work out how to adjust the settings on the new camera.
Chocolate would be really helpful about now ![]()

Smiling here…I find chocolate to be very soothing and a cure-all for just about anything & everything, not to mention that it’s the perfect ending to any celebration or after a long day of work! Lovely pic Manda…it looks as if you and Melvin are in deep conversation…I need a Melvin to listen to me as intently! It’s good to see you blogging again! Big hugs to you and bunches of wishes that Mother’s Day is bright, beautiful and filled with much love, laughter and happiness for you:)
Good to see you again, Manda!! I am sending chocolates over the cyber delivery service. This has been teacher appreciation week and the kids have taken to heart that I love chocolate LOL My night school is over and that is such a relief. I have kids in classes for 5 more days…then we have them for 2 more days but are filling those with assemblies. Huggggggggs and wishing you a wonderful Mother’s Day.
Ah, poor Melvin. He needs to learn to stay home where it’s safe. As for chocolate, I’ve been munching on a Hershey’s with almonds, mmm. Had a rough day at work so the chocolate and new muscle relaxant worked wonders, lol.
Long hard days have a tendency to take a toll on you. I’ve been off work for over a month and just went back, full duty no restrictions after being on a 2 pound weight limit for over a month. Suffice it to say, I was not going to complain when after going back to the doc to report how the trial weeke went, they suggested that I do only two days on… and one day off for a few weeks, til we get a handle on this.
I can’t tell for sure from the back view of your Melvin here, but he looks very much like our Shelby Kitty. We had her for many many years, and she finally died a few years ago, a very old kitty. She never had any kittens, never warmed up to any males that came by, in fact, she just whooped em for even thinkin such a thing! ( dumb cat :P) But maybe it was just the males they were… wonder what would have happened had she met your Melvin? ( gigglin ) Thanks for sharing your day. Even if it wasn’t all sunshine and lollipops! Huggs
