Entry for 27 December 2008

We have had 3 days of Christmas this year. Christmas eve my daughter, Kitty & her partner Daniel, had a Christmas party here for some of their friends. Kitty and Daniel live at my ex’s place and he doesn’t like them having people over so they asked if they could come here. It was fun, they had a Bbq.. they did all the preparation , gave me some dinner too and cleaned up afterwards. I glazed my ham for Christmas.

Christmas day, Penny (my youngest daughter) and I got up latish, opened presents and had a late brunch of ham, turkish bread and some champagne and orange juice. Late in the after noon we went to my Ex’s for a non traditional dinner. All the kids and their partners were there…no grand children yet so it was not all that rowdy…more presents were exchanged and after dinner we played games for a while before heading off home.

Boxing day, late afternoon I had planned a bbq for as my christmas get together so as the kids could go to their partners families etc the day before and I hadn’t expected to be invited to dinner the previous day, which was done last minute.

Melvin enjoyed the garden in the shade.

Anyway, I nearly called it off but the kids were keen to go ahead and my mother was dropping in. It was a very warm day, right up to Christmas eve all last week we had rain and very cool temps. We had cooked chicken and prawns on the bbq and had ham, salad, and plenty of punch outside in the garden.

Chatting after we cleared away the plates and things – Penny, Michael, Daniel, Kitty, Stefan and Jess.

It turned out to be a lovely afternoon. An early dinner as Jess, my sons partner had to start work at 8.00pm, she is a police officer and was hoping it would not be a difficult shift.

  3. I really enjoyed your blog and looking at your past pictures posted. I guess it’s been awhile since I’ve been here. Very nice.

  4. It’s nice to see how everyone spent the holidays. It’s been many years since I spent Christmas with bare feet. ( lived in Florida about 23 years ago. )

And it’s nice to see Melvin again too. I still say he’s the spitting image of my daughters best friend, Shelby. We lost her about 5 or 6 years ago after having her for much of my kids childhood.

I Always love to visit your blog Manda, and see how things are where you are. I love the scenery, I love the atmosphere, and I love all your stories too. Thank you for sharing your day to days with us.

    Have a fabulous New Year!

Let's chat about this!
