This morning I took my camera with me for my morning walk, it was a beautiful morning. A 3 min drive from my house takes you to Lake Tuggeranong, 1 of Canberra’s man made lakes. Canberra is a spread out city and consists of a main city centre and 4 Regional Town centres, Gungahlin, Belconnen, Woden and Tuggeranong.

There are town houses built around the northern end of the lake, but as planning is pretty strict there is nothing closer than approx 200metres from the shore. This means they are barely visible when walking around. There is public parkland all around the lake apart from the small stretch at the town centre and those buildings are all community facilities; The community Centre, The town centre Library, the Arts Centre and the Lake Tuggeranong College (which is a senior secondary college for yr11 & 12 students).

The area is less than 25 yrs old and I think is now starting to look very beautiful as all the trees are starting to reach mature heights. I’m not so keen on the architecture chosen for the public buildings, they look a bit like Noddy’s toy Town, I’ve always wondered who got the job of choosing those.

Anyway this morning was a beautiful start to the day…would you believe that possible thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon?
